The initial scent had an almost black licorice gourmand smell that isn't my favorite. As it dried down, it developed a very pleasant, warm, carmely spice....Sweet, sexy and timeless...If you're a fan of gourmand and vanilla especially this is a slightly sexier more grown up version.

This is a sweet vanilla scented fragrance, love it but I do feel like it doesn’t last very long. ...Well rounded gourmand...It gives an interesting twist to the otherwise rather sweet gourmand perfume. Many vanilla fragrances are too heavy or cloying for me, but this interpretation gives a well rounded scent off and works great on my skin.

To be honest I really don't smell much "vanilla or amber" when I think of the vanilla and amber in the usual gourmand sense in fragrance. But I really love this scent. ...For a long time, the Vanilla Woods was the only fragrance from the line that I absolutely loved.
