THIS POLICY IS EFFECTIVE FOR ALL PURCHASES MADE ON AND AFTER APRIL 24, 2025.
If you are not completely satisfied with a Sephora purchase or gift for any reason, Sephora welcomes you to return new or gently used products for a full refund to your original method of payment if returned within 30 days of purchase, in most cases. In order to complete the return, you must have a proof of purchase.
Please review our return, refund, and exchange policies below for purchases made on Sephora.com, purchases made in Sephora stores, and purchases made on third party on-demand delivery marketplaces such as Instacart, Doordash and Shipt. Products must be returned in new or gently used condition. Sephora monitors return activity for abuse and reserves the right to limit returns or exchanges at Sephora in all instances. Beauty Insider points and spend associated with all refunds will be removed when the transaction is processed. All returns are subject to validation and approval at Sephora’s discretion. If a return is not approved by Sephora for any reason, the item may not be returned to you. We may ask you for a driver’s license or government ID to verify your identity.
Sephora.com purchases can be easily returned for FREE (no return shipping or handling fees) to any of our Sephora locations for fast processing or by mail if you use our pre-paid return shipping label (follow the return procedures described below). Purchases made on Sephora.com and in Sephora stores cannot be returned or exchanged at Sephora at Kohl’s. We regret that we are unable to refund your original shipping charges, if applicable, unless the return was a result of our error. Please allow 30 days for your return to be processed if sent by mail. You will receive an email confirmation once your return has been processed. Your financial institution may take longer to reflect the transaction.

Items purchased on Sephora.com may not be returned by mail or in stores and will not be refunded more than 30 days after the purchase date.
Items shipped to Sephora outside of the returns window, not in new or gently used condition, without a Sephora original packing slip, or not purchased at Sephora, may not be credited back or returned to you.
We will not offer replacements or refunds for orders or items that are reported missing or damaged that we reasonably believe to have been delivered to a parcel forwarding company.
Sephora is unable to offer exchanges by mail for purchases on Sephora.com or Sephora items purchased on third-party marketplaces; however, we are happy to exchange your new or gently used product in any of our store locations within 30 days of purchase.
* If you paid with Klarna or Afterpay, and Sephora receives your new or gently used item within 30 days of purchase, you will receive a full refund to your Klarna or Afterpay account and the amount and length of your payment plan will be adjusted accordingly.

If there is a discrepancy between the return policy and procedures printed on the Sephora original packing slip and the information provided above, the information provided above governs the return of your Sephora.com purchase.
* If you paid with Klarna or Afterpay, and Sephora receives your new or gently used item within 30 days of purchase, the purchase price will be refunded to a credit or debit card of your choice. This refund will NOT be applied to your Klarna or Afterpay account and you MUST continue to make payments to Klarna or Afterpay per the original agreement.
For new or gently used items returned in a Sephora store, please provide any of the following: an original packing slip, Sephora.com Order or Shipping Confirmation email, the Sephora.com order on your mobile device or your Beauty Insider information. Your return will be processed according to this refund and exchange policy. Any products not verifiable within our system will be ineligible for a refund, exchange, or credit.

It takes up to 30 days to process returns and credit your account or to issue an online store credit. Please note that your financial institution may take longer to reflect the transaction.
* Items purchased at Sephora stores, Buy Online Pickup in Store purchases, Same-Day Delivery orders and Sephora items ordered on Instacart, Doordash or Shipt cannot be returned by mail.
** Gift Cards, certain Sephora Favorites Kits and some intimate care items are final sale and cannot be returned by mail or in store.
*** Items with specific shipping restrictions (hazmat items) are not eligible for printerless returns and must be returned via USPS. Click here for more information on hazmat items.
Visit any free standing Sephora store to return an item purchased from Sephora.com or third-party marketplace within 30 days of purchase. Please bring any of the following: an original packing slip, Sephora.com Order or Shipping Confirmation email, the Sephora.com order on your mobile device, your Beauty Insider information. Additionally, please bring the debit or credit card you used to place your order. Returns made within 30 days will be refunded to the credit or debit card of your choice. Purchases made on Sephora.com and in Sephora stores cannot be returned or exchanged at Sephora at Kohl’s.
If you are returning a Sephora gift that you received by mail and do not want the refund to go to the purchaser, please visit your local Sephora store for assistance with an exchange or a merchandise credit. Please bring any of the following: an original packing slip, Sephora.com Order or Shipping Confirmation email, or Gift Receipt email. Do not make a return by mail.
Sephora in-store purchases, Buy Online and Pick Up orders, Same-Day Delivery orders and Doordash or Shipt orders of Sephora products may be returned or exchanged within 30 days. , Instacart and DoorDash orders of Sephora products may be returned within 30 days, if the product is in new or gently used condition with a receipt or gift receipt at a store location. Purchases made on Sephora.com and in Sephora stores cannot be returned or exchanged at Sephora at Kohl’s. See the table below for information on the payment method to which your refund will be issued. If a gift receipt is presented (with the exception of Instacart), you will receive a Sephora store credit that can be used in a Sephora store only. Instacart returns will be refunded directly from Instacart to the original form of payment. Sephora in-store purchases, Buy Online and Pick Up orders, Same-Day Delivery and Instacart, Doordash and or Shipt orders cannot be returned by mail. All gift cards are final sale and no refunds will be given.

Sephora store credit does not have an expiration date, cannot be redeemed for cash (unless required by law), reloaded, transferred to others, or sold and can only be used at Sephora stores (not at Sephora.com or through Customer Service). Sephora store credit will not be replaced if lost or stolen.
* We do not refund Instacart, Doordash or Shipt fees or tips to personal shoppers.
*** If you paid with Klarna or Afterpay, and Sephora receives your new or gently used item within 30 days of purchase, the purchase price will be refunded to the Klarna or Afterpay card used on the original transaction, which is stored in either Apple Pay or Google Pay. The amount and length of your payment plan will be adjusted accordingly.
**** If you paid with Klarna or Afterpay on a Buy Online and Pickup in Store order or a Same Day Delivery order, and Sephora receives your new or gently used item within 30 days of purchase, the purchase price will be refunded to a credit or debit card of your choice. This refund will NOT be applied to your Klarna or Afterpay account and you MUST continue to make payments to Klarna or Afterpay per the original agreement.
^ In order to receive a refund to your Klarna or Afterpay card via your Apple or Google wallet, the Klarna or Afterpay card must be selected in the Apple or Google wallet.
Beauty Insider points associated with your refund will be removed when the transaction is processed. All applicable taxes as required by law will be included.
New or gently used items returned without a receipt but found within our system will be processed according to the applicable Sephora refund and exchange policy. Any products not verifiable within our system will be ineligible for a refund, exchange, or merchandise credit.
Sephora is also happy to exchange your new or gently used Sephora in-store purchase or Instacart, Doordash or Shipt purchase of Sephora product for another product within 30 days of purchase.
All purchases made at the Mohegan Sun store with Player’s Club Points are only eligible for exchange. Exchange must be within 30 days of purchase.

Merchandise purchased at Sephora at Kohl’s locations or on kohls.com cannot be returned to Sephora locations or mailed to Sephora. To return an item purchased at Sephora at Kohl’s or ordered on kohls.com, please visit a Kohl’s retail store or follow the Kohl’s return guidelines.
Sephora at Kohl’s merchandise must be returned within 30 days from date of purchase for a refund to the original form of payment. Product should be in new or “gently used” condition. Non-receipted returns are not allowed.
Customers returning merchandise purchased using a Sephora Gift Card or PayPal will be issued a Kohl’s merchandise credit, which can be used in Kohl’s stores and at kohls.com.
Merchandise purchased at Sephora locations or on sephora.com cannot be returned to Sephora at Kohl’s locations or mailed to Kohl’s. To return an item purchased at Sephora please follow the Sephora return guidelines.
No purchase made from Sephora in a Sephora store or on sephora.com is eligible for return to the Shops outlined below. No purchase made from Sephora on a Shop outlined below is eligible for a return or exchange in a Sephora store or on www.sephora.com. To return an item purchased on a Shop outlined below, please visit the Shop that you made the original purchase from and follow the instructions to make the return:
Please note, Sephora merchandise purchased in any of the above Shops must be returned within 30 days of purchase and will be refunded to the original form of payment. Items returned after 30 days will not be accepted. No refunds will be given for items marked not returnable and/or final sale. Product should be in new or “gently used” condition.
